BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – Indonesia’s online travel platform tiket.com has officially opened a new branch office in Bali, reinforcing the island’s role as a key tourism hub and gateway for travel to Eastern Indonesia.
The move marks a strategic step in tiket.com’s long-term plan to strengthen national tourism connectivity, particularly routes to and from Eastern Indonesia. The company said the Bali office will bring its operations closer to local tourism activity, enabling faster responses to market dynamics and stronger support for customers and regional partners.
Bali is widely regarded not only as a world-class destination but also as a primary entry point to leading destinations in Eastern Indonesia, including Labuan Bajo, Raja Ampat, Wakatobi, Manado, and Ternate. With strong air connectivity and a mature tourism ecosystem, the island plays a central role in driving travel demand across the eastern regions.
“The opening of our Bali office is part of our long-term strategy to strengthen national tourism connectivity, especially to and from Eastern Indonesia,” said Cisyelya Bunyamin, Senior Vice President of Accommodations at tiket.com.
“Having a dedicated team on the ground allows us to better understand the needs of consumers and local partners, while delivering more relevant travel experiences.”
Going forward, the Bali branch will serve as tiket.com’s operational coordination center for Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua. Meanwhile, the company’s Surabaya office will continue to focus on serving East Java. The regional division is expected to improve operational efficiency and strengthen partnership development across each area.
Data from 2025 shows growing demand for travel to Eastern Indonesia, with bookings in the region rising 23 percent year-on-year. Bali contributed significantly, recording 15 percent year-on-year growth, underscoring its position as both a leading destination and a key driver of regional travel demand.
In Bali, accommodation bookings remained dominant throughout 2025, particularly for three-, four-, and five-star hotels. Kuta recorded the highest number of bookings in the province, with 10 percent year-on-year growth, followed by Seminyak, Legian, Nusa Dua, and Canggu.
Across Eastern Indonesia overall, Bali remained the most in-demand destination, followed by Surabaya, Malang, Makassar, and Lombok. The 2025–2026 year-end holiday period further boosted travel demand, with Bali posting an additional 8 percent year-on-year increase.
tiket.com said the Bali office will also function as a center for developing partnerships with accommodation providers, transportation services, and tourist attractions.
The presence of a local team is expected to improve market responsiveness, streamline collaboration, and support the growth of the tourism and creative economy across Eastern Indonesia.
“Tourism is not only about travel, but also about building connections, creating economic opportunities, and delivering meaningful experiences,” Cisyelya said. “With Bali’s strong ecosystem, we aim to become an even closer partner for local tourism industry players.”
