KLUNGKUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – Authorities in Klungkung Regency have shut down a bungee jumping facility at Kelingking Beach, Nusa Penida, after the attraction was found operating again despite a previous closure due to licensing violations.
Officers from the Klungkung Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) carried out the enforcement on Thursday (29 January), reinstalling official closure lines at the Extreme Park Bali bungee jumping site to stop all activities. The action followed coordination with the Bali Provincial Satpol PP.
Head of Klungkung Satpol PP and Fire Services, Dewa Putu Suwarbawa, said the closure was implemented based on coordination results with provincial authorities. He explained that Bali Provincial Satpol PP instructed Klungkung officers to take action in line with findings from the Bali Provincial Parliament’s Special Committee on Spatial Planning, Assets, and Licensing (Pansus TRAP).
“We deployed personnel to the site to carry out the closure. This attraction had previously been shut down because it did not have the required permits and violated regulations. Since it resumed operations, we have now closed it again,” Suwarbawa said.
He added that the move was part of regulatory enforcement and a follow-up to the Pansus TRAP recommendations, which identified licensing violations in the operation of the extreme tourism attraction.
Meanwhile, Bali Provincial Satpol PP head I Dewa Nyoman Rai Dharmadi confirmed that his office coordinated closely with Klungkung authorities to halt the activity once more at Kelingking Beach. Two provincial Satpol PP officers assigned to Nusa Penida were also deployed to the location.
“This activity must be stopped because a temporary closure decision is already in place. We have also requested the seizure of equipment and inspections of any foreign workers involved,” Rai Dharmadi said.
The renewed closure underscores authorities’ efforts to enforce regional regulations and maintain order and safety at one of Bali’s most popular tourist destinations. Visitors to Kelingking Beach are advised that bungee jumping activities are currently not permitted at the site.
