BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – The Badung Regency Government has begun land acquisition processes for four new road access projects aimed at easing traffic congestion across the regency, Badung Regent I Wayan Adi Arnawa confirmed on Thursday (7/1).

Speaking at the Badung Regency Government Center (Puspem Badung), Adi Arnawa said several land acquisition stages have already been completed, allowing the projects to move toward the construction phase.

“Land acquisition is already underway, and some sections have been completed. The next step will be the tender process for physical construction. With the regional loan funding, we hope all four new road sections can be completed by the end of 2026 to help address traffic congestion,” he said.

Previously, the Badung Regency Government announced plans to accelerate the development of the four road projects through a regional loan scheme valued at IDR 2.8 trillion from state-owned infrastructure financing company PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (PT SMI).

The regent outlined the four road corridors currently undergoing land acquisition. These include the Pecatu–Melasti route, the Traditional Pecatu Market–Jalan Raya Uluwatu route, the Banjar Semer–Jalan Teuku Umar Barat route, and the Subak Sari–Banjar Semer route.

Adi Arnawa noted that the Subak Sari–Banjar Semer corridor in Kerobokan will involve road widening rather than the construction of an entirely new road, as the area is already experiencing heavy congestion.

“The Subak Sari–Banjar Semer route will be expanded to address current traffic bottlenecks. This section is among those that are most ready for physical construction and is expected to be completed as soon as possible,” he added.

The four road projects are part of Badung’s broader infrastructure strategy to improve mobility in high-traffic areas, particularly as vehicle numbers continue to grow faster than road capacity.
