BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – The Badung Transportation Agency has confirmed it will maintain heightened security and traffic management measures in the Kuta area during New Year’s Eve, as the destination is expected to attract large crowds of domestic and international visitors.

Kuta remains one of Bali’s main tourist magnets, particularly during year-end celebrations, with thousands of people traditionally gathering along Kuta Beach and surrounding entertainment areas. To manage the anticipated surge, authorities will again implement a Car Free Night policy as part of an integrated public safety operation.

Head of the Badung Transportation Agency AA Rai Yuda Darma said visitor numbers typically begin rising from midday and continue into the night, with people arriving both on foot and by vehicle.

“We are anticipating a significant influx of visitors to beach areas and entertainment venues that host New Year’s celebrations,” he said on Monday (December 29, 2025).

As in previous years, the Car Free Night initiative will be coordinated by Denpasar City Police, with traffic diversion schemes arranged by police units in Kuta. The policy is intended to reduce vehicle congestion while providing a safer and more comfortable space for the public to celebrate the year-end transition.

The Badung Transportation Agency said it has received official information regarding traffic diversion routes and the schedule for vehicle access closures in the Kuta area.

Implementation will begin with a joint roll-call led by police, involving personnel from the military, transportation officials, public order officers, community security units, and local pecalang (traditional Balinese security).

“We will deploy officers at key intersections, particularly at road closures, to provide security and direct traffic so conditions remain orderly,” Rai Yuda Darma said.

Parking restrictions along certain road sections will also be enforced in line with traffic diversions to prevent congestion. Portable traffic equipment, including barricades, prohibition signs, and road barriers, will be installed at closure points. Vehicles parked illegally on road shoulders will be cleared according to the designated schedule.

Authorities also confirmed that designated parking areas will be prepared, including central parking facilities and other authorized locations around Kuta, to support the traffic management plan.

With these integrated measures, officials hope the Car Free Night program in Kuta will proceed safely and smoothly, ensuring public safety and comfort for residents and tourists celebrating New Year’s Eve in Bali.
