DENPASAR, DEWATA.NEWS – The Bali Provincial Tourism Office has officially launched the Bali Calendar of Events (CoE) 2026, outlining a year-long lineup of festivals and events aimed at strengthening Bali’s position as a high-quality and sustainable tourism destination.

The launch took place at the Bali Tourism Office hall in Denpasar on Tuesday (January 13, 2026). Head of the Bali Tourism Office I Wayan Sumarajaya said the 2026 calendar features a total of 56 officially scheduled events across the island.

The events consist of 40 cultural festivals, seven sports events, two MICE events, one fashion event, four music events, and two culinary events. According to Sumarajaya, the program is designed to highlight Bali not only as a scenic destination but also as a place rich in cultural values, spirituality, and local wisdom.

He emphasized that future event implementation is expected to focus more on the quality of visitor experience rather than sheer visitor numbers. Key priorities include cultural preservation, environmental sustainability, and respect for Balinese customs and traditions. Each event is encouraged to apply sustainable tourism principles, remain environmentally friendly, and be inclusive for both locals and visitors.

“We place great hope that the synergy of programs in 2026 will help distribute tourist visits more evenly, both in terms of time and location,” Sumarajaya said.

With events spread throughout the year and across all regencies and cities in Bali, the government aims to avoid overcrowding during peak periods or in specific locations. Instead, the approach is expected to create a more balanced tourism flow with broader economic benefits for local communities.

Sumarajaya added that the government cannot work alone. Strong collaboration is needed between central and regional governments, tourism businesses, traditional villages, creative communities, academics, and the media to promote and disseminate information about the planned events.

“We invite all stakeholders to use the Bali Calendar of Events 2026 as a shared reference in planning, promotion, and implementation, so we can move forward with aligned goals in developing Bali tourism,” he said.

Major Events Highlighted in 2026

The 2026 calendar features a wide range of international, national, and local-scale events. Early in the year, Bali will host the 6th Multilateral Naval Exercise at Benoa Port, followed by cultural celebrations such as Kesanga Fest, the Ogoh-Ogoh Parade ahead of Nyepi, and traditional rituals like Omed-Omedan in Denpasar.

International festivals including the Bali Spirit Festival in Ubud, Ubud Food Festival, and the Bali International Film Festival (Balinale) will continue to attract global audiences.

Large-scale cultural events such as the Bali Arts Festival (Pesta Kesenian Bali), village-based celebrations in Penglipuran and Jatiluwih, and regional festivals in Buleleng, Karangasem, Gianyar, Jembrana, and Klungkung are scheduled throughout the year.

Sports and lifestyle tourism is also a key focus, with events such as the Maybank Marathon, BTR Ultra, surfing competitions in Medewi and Nusa Lembongan, and kite festivals in Denpasar and Gianyar.

The year will close with major public events including Denpasar Festival, Pandawa Beach Festival, and a series of music and cultural festivals across southern Bali.

With its comprehensive 2026 Calendar of Events, the Bali Provincial Government expects to create a more resilient, inclusive, and evenly distributed tourism ecosystem that delivers long-term benefits for local communities while offering meaningful experiences for domestic and international visitors.
