DENPASAR, DEWATA.NEWS – Bali Governor Wayan Koster highlighted the longstanding relationship between Indonesia and Japan during a reception marking the 66th birthday of Emperor Naruhito of Japan.
The event, organized by the Consulate General of Japan in Denpasar, was held at The Meru in Sanur on Wednesday (Feb 11). It was attended by government officials, business representatives, and community leaders.
The occasion was marked by a ceremonial toast, or “kampai,” symbolizing friendship and unity between the two nations.
In his remarks, Governor Koster conveyed birthday greetings to Emperor Naruhito.
“May His Majesty always be happy and continue to advance the friendship between Indonesia and Japan in the future. Congratulations and best wishes,” he said.
The reception also emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations that have been built over decades. Indonesia and Japan are scheduled to commemorate 70 years of diplomatic relations in 2028.
With that milestone approaching, both countries expressed hopes of continuing mutually beneficial cooperation, including partnerships at the regional level such as between Bali and various regions in Japan.
The event underscored ongoing collaboration across sectors, reflecting close diplomatic and cultural ties between Indonesia and Japan.
