DENPASAR, DEWATA.NEWS – Hotels in Bali recorded a notable increase in room occupancy during the Nyepi and Eid holiday period, signaling a temporary recovery from the early-year low season.

One example is Sudamala Resort in Sanur, which reported an occupancy rate of 70.59 percent between March 18 and March 23, 2026.

Commercial Director of Sudamala Resort, I Wayan Suwastana, said the majority of guests during this period were international visitors, particularly from Australia, Asia-Pacific countries, and ASEAN markets.

“Our guests are mostly from Australia, followed by Asia-Pacific and ASEAN regions,” he stated on Monday (March 23).

The long holiday period provided an opportunity for hotels to improve performance after relatively low occupancy levels in February, which is typically part of Bali’s low season when international arrivals remain limited.

To attract more visitors, Sudamala Resort introduced special Nyepi packages offering immersive retreat experiences. These programs were designed to align with the Day of Silence, encouraging guests to reconnect with nature, reflection, and personal balance.

The packages were available across several destinations, including Sanur, Senggigi, Seraya, Komodo, and Amed, offering curated stays that combine comfort, local cultural experiences, and a शांत environment during the sacred Nyepi observance.

Suwastana explained that the concept invites guests to pause from daily routines and experience Indonesia in a more peaceful and authentic setting.

The improved occupancy during the holiday period reflects seasonal demand patterns in Bali’s hospitality sector, where extended holidays often drive short-term increases in bookings.
