GIANYAR, DEWATA.NEWS – Bali Spirit Festival 2026 is set to return to Ubud from April 15–19, positioning itself beyond a cultural event into a broader platform promoting Bali as a global wellness tourism destination.
The annual festival, held at The Yoga Barn in Ubud, reflects Bali’s ongoing shift from mass tourism toward quality and wellness-based tourism, combining elements of spirituality, culture, and community engagement.
Co-Founder of Bali Spirit Festival, I Made Gunarta, said the event has always been designed as more than entertainment, aiming to promote Bali’s cultural and spiritual identity on a global stage.
“What is now called wellness tourism is essentially a repackaging of Bali’s local wisdom. The spirit of Bali is what keeps it strong internationally, even as the island continues to change physically,” he said during a media session in Denpasar on Saturday (April 4, 2026).
Gunarta emphasized that while Bali’s physical landscape has evolved, its cultural and spiritual values remain a key attraction for international visitors. The festival aims to preserve this identity through a combination of cultural programs, education, and cross-sector collaboration.
In addition to its main events, Bali Spirit Festival continues to run community-focused initiatives under its “give back to community” approach. These include environmental programs such as the Bali ReGreen Project, public health awareness campaigns, educational workshops, and forums like the Wellness Conference and Bali Conference.
“We want this to become a movement to globalize the idea of what Bali represents not just as a destination, but as culture, values, and spirit,” Gunarta added.
The 2026 edition will again feature a Wellness Conference involving government representatives, academics, tourism practitioners, and industry observers to explore how local wisdom can strengthen Bali’s position in the global wellness tourism market.
Organizers have also expanded internationally by establishing a partnership to host a similar festival in Poland. The collaboration will involve Bali-based practitioners, including yoga instructors, musicians, and wellness experts, serving as mentors and cultural ambassadors.
The initiative is seen as part of a broader strategy to promote Bali in the European market and attract visitors interested in wellness, spirituality, and cultural experiences.
Meanwhile, representatives from TAT Ambengan Denpasar highlighted their role in supporting the festival’s community-based approach, providing a platform that integrates business, art, wellness, and sustainability.
“Bali Spirit Festival is not just an annual event, but part of a community movement connecting creative, artistic, and wellness communities in Bali,” said IB Gede Puja.
With its expanded international outreach and strengthened community programs, Bali Spirit Festival is increasingly positioned as a strategic initiative to enhance Bali’s global image as a destination rooted in wellness, culture, and community.
