GIANYAR, DEWATA.NEWS – Bali Zoo has launched a new visitor attraction to enliven the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 (Nataru) holiday season, offering guests a closer look at a variety of unique and exotic animals.

Bali Zoo Public Relations Head Emma Kristiana Chandra said the new attraction, titled Jungle Encounter, is designed to provide a more immersive and educational experience for visitors.

“This attraction offers visitors the opportunity to get closer to unique animals,” Emma said, as quoted by Antara.

The Jungle Encounter is located at the Tamaki Gate area, within the zoo’s 12-hectare conservation complex. The exhibit features a diverse range of exotic species, including golden tegu lizards, blue-tongued skinks, iguanas, corn snakes, albino pythons, raccoons, sulcata tortoises, fennec foxes, skunks, and binturongs.

Visitors can enjoy the Jungle Encounter experience during two daily sessions, from 10:00–11:30 a.m. WITA and 1:00–2:30 p.m. WITA. Access to the attraction is included in the regular entrance ticket, with no additional charge.

However, visitors who wish to take photos with certain animals, such as raccoons, skunks, and fennec foxes will be charged an additional IDR 75,000 per person.

Emma expressed hope that the new attraction will not only serve as a fresh draw for visitors, but also help raise awareness about the importance of wildlife conservation.

“Through this experience, we want visitors to better understand and care about the protection of these animals while enjoying their visit to our conservation and education facility,” she said.

The new attraction is also expected to boost tourist arrivals during the year-end holiday period. On regular days, Bali Zoo typically welcomes 600–800 visitors, with weekend numbers rising to 1,000–1,200 people.

During the Christmas and New Year holidays, visitor numbers are projected to increase significantly to around 2,500–2,800 per day.

Located on Jalan Raya Singapadu, Gianyar, approximately 30 kilometers from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali Zoo has been operating since 2002. The conservation park is home to around 500 animals across 65 species, including wildlife native to Bali, Indonesia, Africa, and Asia.
