BANGLI, DEWATA.NEWS – The Bangli Regency Government has clarified public concerns over alleged leakage in entrance fee collections at the Kintamani tourism area, stating that the issue relates to unrealized revenue potential rather than the loss of funds already collected.
The Bangli Tourism and Culture Office explained that recent discussions about “leakage” stem from a gap between the number of visitors entering Kintamani and the total tourism retribution recorded. According to officials, this difference reflects visitors who are not captured by the current collection system.
Head of the Bangli Tourism and Culture Office I Wayan Dirga Yusa said on Monday, January 19, 2026, that the collection of entrance fees in Kintamani is fully supported by existing legal frameworks. These include national laws and local regulations governing regional taxation and tourism retribution.
“We want to clarify that the collection of tourism retribution in Kintamani is based on strong legal grounds,” Dirga Yusa said.
He explained that surveys conducted by his office found some visitors entering the area through alternative access routes or outside official operating hours, resulting in uncollected fees and reduced potential local revenue.
“We are committed to strengthening supervision and expanding digital systems, including e-ticketing, to close alternative access points and improve regional revenue,” he added.
The office also encouraged cooperation from tourism stakeholders and urged the public to report any misconduct by officers to law enforcement authorities.
Dirga Yusa emphasized that the Bangli Regency Government continues to improve both systems and human resources to enhance the overall quality of tourism management in the region. These efforts are aimed at increasing locally generated revenue and supporting broader development programs.
“We invite everyone to help monitor the process so that Bangli’s local revenue from tourism can continue to grow, ensuring that public programs and development initiatives run effectively,” he said.
