BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – Indonesian immigration authorities have deported a Belgian national following a viral cliff jump stunt in Balangan Beach, Ungasan, that resulted in significant damage to a rental motorbike.

The individual, identified by initials SD (31), gained attention on social media after jumping from a cliff estimated to be around 100 meters high into the sea between March 23–24, 2026. The stunt was recorded by a companion and later shared online.

According to Ngurah Rai Immigration Office Head Bugie Kurniawan, the motorbike used in the stunt did not fall into the sea but was tied to the cliff and sustained severe damage after impact.

“We ensure there is no room for compromise for foreign nationals who violate regulations and attempt to avoid legal responsibility,” he said on Friday (April 3, 2026).

Authorities stated that the tourist initially refused to compensate the rental owner, claiming he did not have sufficient funds. The case was then reported to immigration officials, who summoned the individual for clarification.

Instead of resolving the matter, SD attempted to leave Indonesia. He planned to travel via Sorong and Makassar before continuing to Kuala Lumpur on March 30, 2026.

Immigration officers at Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar intercepted the individual before departure and returned him to Bali under escort for further processing.

After undergoing examination at Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, SD eventually paid compensation to the rental business. Authorities then proceeded with deportation measures.

He was deported from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport to Belgium via Doha and has been placed on an entry ban list, preventing him from re-entering Indonesia for a specified period.

Officials confirmed that the individual violated Article 75 paragraph 1 of Indonesia’s Immigration Law No. 6 of 2011.

The case follows earlier reports of the incident that raised safety concerns in Bali’s coastal areas, particularly involving high-risk activities by foreign visitors.
