DENPASAR, DEWATA.NEWS – PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) (Pelindo), through Benoa Port, has reported an increase in international cruise ship activity at the start of 2026, signaling a steady flow of cruise tourism to Bali.

By mid-January, Benoa Port had served six international cruise ships. Between January 1 and January 13, 2026, the vessels carried a combined total of approximately 5,500 passengers and 2,802 crew members, highlighting the cruise sector’s contribution to Bali’s tourism movement and local economy early in the year.

The cruise calls began with Ovation of the Seas on January 1, followed by Le Jacques Cartier on January 7, Seven Seas Navigator on January 9, Regatta on January 10, Viking Orion on January 12, and Paspaley Pearl on January 13.

On January 11–12, Benoa Port also handled parallel cruise operations, as Regatta remained docked while Viking Orion arrived. According to Pelindo, the simultaneous berthing demonstrated the port’s readiness to manage integrated cruise operations, including berth allocation, port services, and coordination with relevant agencies.

During their stay in Bali, cruise passengers joined shore excursions to various major tourist destinations, supporting the local transport sector, tourism services, and small businesses.

General Manager of Benoa Port Agung Mataram said Pelindo continues to maintain service quality amid rising cruise traffic.

“Pelindo ensures that all cruise ship services, including vessels arriving within close timeframes, operate safely, smoothly, and in line with established operational standards,” he said on Monday (January 12).

Pelindo views the positive cruise arrival trend in early 2026 as an indicator of growing confidence among international cruise operators in Benoa Port. Looking ahead, the company plans to further optimize port services and facilities to support marine tourism development and strengthen the port sector’s contribution to the national economy.
