DENPASAR, DEWATA.NEWS – Indonesian immigration authorities have deported a fugitive from the People’s Republic of China, identified by the initials WY (27), from Bali to Guangzhou under strict security escort.

According to an official statement released on Tuesday (February 3, 2026), the deportation was carried out on Monday (February 2, 2026). WY was escorted from Bali until arrival in Guangzhou, where he was formally handed over to Chinese public security authorities.

A joint team consisting of four officers from the Directorate General of Immigration, the Bali Regional Immigration Office, and the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center was assigned to ensure the transfer was completed without any further risk of escape.

Acting Director General of Immigration Yuldi Yusman said WY had previously arrived at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport after being denied entry by Abu Dhabi authorities for immigration-related reasons on December 2, 2025. After refusing to return to his home country and no longer holding a valid stay permit, WY was placed in detention at the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center on December 24, 2025.

Through intensive coordination between the Chinese government and Indonesia’s Directorate General of Immigration, WY was later identified as a fugitive wanted by the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Bureau. He is sought in China in connection with criminal charges involving unlawful entry onto private property and assault.

Based on this status, the Chinese government requested Indonesia’s assistance in providing special escort arrangements to ensure WY’s safe deportation and transfer to authorities in Guangzhou.

Yuldi Yusman emphasized that the action reflects Indonesia’s selective immigration policy. “Indonesia only provides space for foreigners who are beneficial. We reiterate that Indonesia is not a refuge for fugitives, and under Article 75 paragraph (3) of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration, we have full authority to deport foreign nationals who attempt to evade legal threats or the execution of criminal sentences in their home countries,” he said.

The deportation underscores Indonesia’s cooperation with international partners in handling immigration violations and cross-border criminal cases.
