TABANAN, DEWATA.NEWS – Damage has been reported on a key access road linking the Tanah Lot tourism area with Munggu in Badung, specifically in Beraban Village. Local residents have placed tree branches near the affected section to warn motorists, as the damage poses potential risks to road users.

The damaged section, located near Kediri III Community Health Center, has reportedly been in its current condition for some time. While vehicles can still pass through, residents say repairs are urgently needed to prevent further deterioration and possible accidents.

A local resident, Ngurah, said small holes have begun to appear on the road surface, raising safety concerns, particularly given the high volume of traffic along the route.

“This is a busy road, and even small damage can be dangerous for passing vehicles,” he said on Friday (December 26).

Ngurah added that the road serves not only as a tourist route but also as a vital daily connection for residents commuting between Tabanan and Badung. He urged authorities to act quickly to avoid more severe damage similar to past road failures in other areas.

“This is an important access road. If it worsens, it will disrupt both tourism and daily travel,” he said.

Responding to the situation, Secretary of the Tabanan Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (PUPR), I Gede Partana, explained that the road falls under provincial authority, as it is classified as a Bali Provincial Road. However, he confirmed that the damage has already been reported to the provincial government.

“We have received the report and forwarded it to the provincial authorities for follow-up,” Partana said. He added that based on initial coordination, the Bali Provincial Government is expected to inspect the site soon and take further action.

Until repairs are carried out, motorists particularly tourists traveling to and from Tanah Lot, are advised to proceed with caution when using the route.
