BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – A 49-year-old Dutch national was killed following a violent assault involving sharp weapons in Kerobokan, North Kuta, Badung Regency, on Monday night (March 23, 2026).
The incident occurred at around 22:50 WITA near the victim’s accommodation, identified as Villa Amira in Banjar Anyar Kelod. According to initial information, the victim, identified by the initials RP, had just returned to the villa with his partner when they noticed two suspicious men riding a black automatic motorcycle.
One of the suspects was reportedly wearing a dark green ride-hailing jacket, a black helmet, and a blue face mask. The second individual was described as wearing an orange shirt without a helmet.
As the couple approached the villa, the suspects allegedly stopped and confronted them before launching an attack using sharp weapons. The victim’s partner managed to escape and ran toward a nearby villa in a dark area, while the attackers briefly pursued before returning to continue the assault on the victim.
Reports indicate the attackers also entered the villa compound during the incident before coming back outside and continuing the assault. The victim eventually collapsed, and the suspects fled the scene on their motorcycle shortly after.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, but medical personnel were unable to save his life.
Police from North Kuta Police Sector responded to the scene and have launched an investigation into the case. Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the suspects or possible motives.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit at North Kuta Police, Iptu Annas Y Wicaksana, confirmed the incident but declined to provide additional information at this stage.
“Yes, an official statement will be provided later so that all information regarding this case comes from a single source,” he said briefly.
The case remains under investigation as police continue to gather evidence and identify those responsible.
