BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – A large trembesi tree fell across the exit road of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on Saturday evening (December 20, 2025) at around 7:35 p.m. WITA, briefly disrupting traffic in the busy airport area.
The incident occurred south of the airport fuel station, at a time when outbound traffic remained heavy. According to a driver involved in the incident, several smaller branches had already fallen onto the road shortly before the main tree collapsed.
Moments later, the larger tree came down, striking a Mitsubishi Xpander that was unable to avoid impact due to close vehicle spacing. A nearby Toyota Avanza Veloz taxi was also hit by the falling tree.
No injuries or fatalities were reported. However, two vehicles sustained material damage, and traffic along the airport exit experienced temporary delays.
Officers from the Ngurah Rai Airport Area Police and related agencies quickly responded to the scene. Police immediately secured the area and managed traffic flow to prevent congestion and ensure road safety.
Evacuation efforts focused on clearing branches and tree trunks blocking the roadway. The operation involved police personnel, relevant agencies, and assistance from local residents who voluntarily helped with the cleanup.
Ngurah Rai Airport Police spokesperson Ipda I Gede Suka Artana expressed appreciation for the coordinated response.
“Upon receiving the report, our personnel promptly moved to the location to manage traffic and clear the fallen tree. We appreciate the support of related agencies and the community, which helped restore traffic flow quickly,” he said.
As of the latest update, one lane of the airport exit road has been reopened, and traffic conditions around the site were reported to be safe and under control.
