BULELENG, DEWATA.NEWS – Heavy rainfall on Sunday afternoon (January 11, 2026) caused flooding along the main Singaraja–Denpasar Road, particularly in Pancasari Village, Sukasada District. Water inundation near the entrance gate of Bali Handara temporarily disrupted traffic flow.

Responding to the situation, traffic police from Buleleng Police were deployed to manage traffic and assist affected residents. Evacuation and traffic control efforts began at around 16:00 WITA and continued until conditions were declared safe.

Head of Public Relations of Buleleng Police, Iptu Yohana Rosalin Diaz, said the heavy rain caused water to overflow onto the roadway, creating hazardous conditions for motorists.

“Traffic police personnel managed vehicle flow and assisted residents who had difficulty crossing the flooded area,” she said.

In several instances, officers were seen carrying residents across the flooded section to ensure their safety. Traffic was regulated alternately to prevent vehicles from stalling and to reduce the risk of accidents.

Buleleng Traffic Police Chief AKP Bachtiar Arifin explained that, in addition to easing congestion, officers also advised motorists to reduce speed and remain alert when passing through standing water.

“The presence of police during situations like this reflects our commitment to public service and community safety,” Yohana added.

Following the response measures, traffic conditions along the Singaraja–Denpasar route gradually returned to normal. No traffic accidents were reported during the flooding incident.

Buleleng Police have urged the public to remain vigilant amid the ongoing rainy season, stay alert to the risk of flooding and extreme weather, and follow officers’ instructions to ensure collective safety.
