DENPASAR, DEWATA.NEWS – Bali Police confirmed that four of the six foreign nationals named as suspects in the kidnapping of a Ukrainian citizen have fled abroad, while two others are believed to still be in Indonesia. The victim, identified by the initials IK (28), remains missing.

Authorities are also investigating a separate case involving the discovery of dismembered human remains in Ketewel, Gianyar Regency. The identity of the victim has not yet been established, and police are awaiting DNA test results from several body parts recovered at the scene.

Head of Public Relations of Bali Police, Commissioner Ariasandy, stated that despite some similarities between the physical characteristics of the kidnapping victim and the mutilation case, investigators have not linked the two incidents as a single case.

To pursue the kidnapping suspects, Bali Police are working with Interpol. However, the identities of the suspects who fled overseas have not been publicly disclosed.

“We have submitted a red notice to Interpol, including to the Ukrainian authorities. We hope the case will soon be resolved and clarified,” Ariasandy said on Monday (March 2, 2026).

He explained that the six individuals were designated as suspects after investigators secured two forms of legal evidence, including CCTV footage and witness statements from the crime scene.

The suspects are being charged under articles related to unlawful deprivation of liberty or kidnapping, as well as assault and aggravated assault.

Police have also seized evidence from a villa in Tabanan, which is suspected to have been used by the perpetrators to detain the victim.

“Evidence secured includes towels and bed sheets. We suspect the towel matches the one used during a live broadcast. According to information obtained, the villa was rented by one of the suspects for a one-month period,” Ariasandy added.

The kidnapping was first reported on February 15, 2026, and an official police report was filed the following day. Investigators subsequently arrested a suspect identified by the initial C in West Nusa Tenggara on February 23, 2026.

Further investigation led to the identification of six additional suspects, RM, BK, AS, VN, SM, and DH, who are currently listed as wanted.

Meanwhile, residents in Ketewel Village, Sukawati District, Gianyar, were alarmed on February 26, 2026, after scattered human body parts were discovered along the coastal area. Authorities continue forensic examinations to determine the identity of the victim and whether there is any connection to the kidnapping case.
