GIANYAR, DEWATA.NEWS – Police officers from the Gianyar Police Resort (Polres Gianyar) conducted preventive patrols at Bali Zoo in Sukawati on Wednesday (March 4, 2026) to maintain public security ahead of upcoming religious holidays.
The activity was carried out by the Preventive Task Force (Satgas II) of Operation Cipkon Agung 2026, which focuses on maintaining public order and safety during periods of increased community activity.
A total of 17 personnel were deployed to the tourism site located on Jalan Raya Singapadu, Sukawati District, Gianyar Regency. Officers carried out security monitoring, traffic management, and patrols around the area as visitor numbers began to increase.
Head of the Preventive Task Force for Operation Cipkon Agung 2026, AKP Wibowo Sidi, said the patrol emphasized preventive measures and direct engagement with both tourism operators and visitors.
“We prioritize preventive actions by engaging in direct dialogue with tourism managers and visitors. The goal is to ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable while visiting the area,” Wibowo said.
The patrol is part of broader security preparations for the upcoming Nyepi Day of the Balinese Saka Calendar Year 1948 and the Islamic holiday of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri.
In addition to monitoring physical security, officers also provided public safety reminders to encourage visitors and local residents to help maintain order in public spaces.
Based on field observations, conditions at Bali Zoo and the surrounding area remained safe, orderly, and under control during the patrol.
“Until the end of the activity, the public security situation in Sukawati, especially in tourist areas, remained conducive. We will continue intensifying similar patrols at other crowded locations within the jurisdiction of Gianyar Police,” Wibowo added.
