BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – The Bali chapter of the Indonesian Housekeeper’s Association (IHKA) has announced plans to hold the International Making Bed Competition, Conference & Exhibition 2026, an event expected to bring together hospitality professionals from seven countries.

Chairman of IHKA Bali, I Gede Cahaya Adi Putra, said the event will involve participants from Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore, Maldives, and Sri Lanka. The 2026 edition marks an expansion from previous years, which featured delegates from five countries.

The event will also bring together representatives from 26 regional IHKA boards across Indonesia, creating a national and international forum for professional exchange within the hospitality housekeeping sector.

“By inviting international participants, we want to broaden the perspective of our members so they can think and operate on a global scale. What is commonly practiced abroad can inspire improvements in Indonesia, allowing our members to deliver better service to guests,” Cahaya said on Sunday, January 4.

He added that IHKA Bali hopes the event will also involve members of the ASEAN Housekeeper’s Association and strengthen collaboration among housekeeping professionals across the region.

As part of its opening activities for 2026, IHKA Bali previously held a purification ritual and joint prayer ceremony at Pura Mengening on Saturday, January 3. The ceremony served as an expression of gratitude for programs completed in 2025 and as a collective prayer for the smooth implementation of planned activities in the year ahead.

“We hope the togetherness built in this spiritual atmosphere will further strengthen synergy, unity, and collaboration between IHKA Bali and all of our partners,” Cahaya said during the event.

The prayer activities were reported to have proceeded smoothly. IHKA Bali views the ceremony as both a reflection and a hopeful start toward the successful organization of its major agenda, including the International Making Bed Competition, Conference & Exhibition scheduled for early June 2026.

Ellen Atmaja, a committee member for the ceremony, expressed appreciation to supporting vendors who participated in the event.

“At the beginning of 2026, through joint prayers and purification rituals at Pura Mengening, we would like to thank our vendor partners who consistently support IHKA Bali’s activities,” she said.

Meanwhile, Head of IHKA Bali’s Parahyangan Division Ida Bagus Suamba expressed hope that IHKA members would remain united and continue to strengthen cooperation throughout 2026.

“We want IHKA to be more solid and collaborative, so Bali’s tourism sector, which has faced various challenges, can continue to improve and recover. We also hope our collective businesses will grow and meet shared expectations,” he said.

In addition to prayers and purification rituals, IHKA Bali also conducted donations in the form of funds and cleaning equipment as part of its social responsibility efforts.
