BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) has intensified coastal security measures in the Nusa Dua area, Bali, by strengthening marine patrol capabilities in collaboration with local water police.

As part of the initiative, ITDC handed over one rubber boat, an engine unit, and five life jackets to the Water and Air Police Unit (Polairud) of Denpasar Police. The equipment will be used to support surveillance and patrol operations along the coastal zone managed by the state-owned tourism developer.

“Collaboration with the water police is a strategic step to ensure the area remains safe and conducive,” said ITDC Operations Director Troy Warokka in Nusa Dua.

The Nusa Dua tourism complex, known as an integrated resort destination, spans approximately four kilometers of coastline, including key areas such as Peninsula Island and Nusa Dharma. The high level of interaction between tourism activities and coastal operations has increased the need for effective monitoring and rapid response systems.

“With these conditions, the need for fast response in handling safety and security in coastal waters becomes very important,” Warokka added.

The additional patrol equipment is expected to function as a preventive measure to reduce the risk of marine accidents and potential security disturbances. Improved patrol capacity is also anticipated to enhance response time and overall monitoring effectiveness in the area.

“We believe that security is the foundation for creating a safe, comfortable, and sustainable tourism experience,” he said.

The move comes as Bali continues to maintain its position as a major international tourism destination, where safety standards remain a key factor for visitors and stakeholders.
