BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – The Jungle Padel sports facility in Munggu Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency, has resumed operations despite previously being sealed by a special committee of the Bali Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD Bali) over permit and zoning concerns.
The facility had been sealed on December 31, 2025 by the Special Committee on Spatial Planning, Regional Assets, and Licensing (Pansus TRAP). At the time, the committee stated that the owner, identified by the initials RS, acknowledged that the business had only obtained a recommendation through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system.
According to the committee’s findings, the facility had not yet secured a building permit from the Badung Regency government.
The sports venue, reportedly owned by a foreign national, was also found to be built on land designated as Sustainable Food Agricultural Land (Lahan Pertanian Pangan Berkelanjutan/LP2B), which is protected under spatial planning regulations.
The reopening of the facility has raised public questions about whether the earlier closure was temporary while the licensing process was still under review.
Chairman of the Pansus TRAP DPRD Bali, I Made Supartha, said he had not yet received official information confirming that the facility had resumed operations.
“The follow-up to the findings of the Pansus TRAP was handled by the Badung Satpol PP and the Bali Provincial Satpol PP. We have not yet received information about the results of that review,” Supartha said on Wednesday (March 4, 2026).
He added that the committee will coordinate with both enforcement agencies to obtain clarification on the status of the licensing process, particularly since the facility is reportedly operating again.
“We will communicate and request reports from the Badung and Bali Satpol PP regarding the progress of their investigation and how far the process has gone, especially now that the facility has resumed operations,” he said.
Meanwhile, Bali Satpol PP Chief I Dewa Nyoman Rai Dharmadi explained that based on discussions during a hearing with the Pansus TRAP, the case was delegated to the Badung Regency government for further handling.
According to him, several developments in the surrounding area were also found to be built on land not designated for such use. As a result, Badung authorities were advised to consider a moratorium on new construction in the area to prevent additional developments that may violate spatial planning rules.
Authorities in Badung are expected to continue reviewing the situation, including the status of permits and land-use compliance for the Jungle Padel facility.
