BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – A cultural performance combining traditional Balinese Kecak dance and Chinese Barongsai (lion dance) was held in The Nusa Dua area on Friday (February 13) as part of Lunar New Year celebrations.

The event also served as a festive gathering ahead of Valentine’s Day, offering visitors a cultural experience along the beachfront.

The program began with a Barongsai performance at The Bay beachfront area from 17:00 to 17:30 WITA. The lion dance troupe then continued with a walking performance toward Taksu Art Stage.

Upon arrival, Barongsai returned to the stage as the opening act for the Kecak Dance Show from 17:30 to 18:00 WITA. The Kecak performance followed from 18:00 to 19:00 WITA, concluding the Lunar New Year celebration series at The Nusa Dua.

General Manager of The Nusa Dua, I Made Agus Dwiatmika, said the combined performance reflected a commitment to creating an inclusive cultural celebration space.

“The combination of Barongsai and Kecak performances not only represents cultural diversity, but also strengthens The Nusa Dua’s appeal as a world-class tourism destination enriched by art and tradition,” he said.

In addition to the performances, visitors received chocolate as a symbolic gesture linking Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day, representing happiness, togetherness, and affection.

The event highlights ongoing efforts to integrate multicultural celebrations into Bali’s tourism calendar, particularly in major resort areas such as Nusa Dua.
