BANGLI, DEWATA.NEWS – The popular tourist destination of Kintamani in Bali’s Bangli Regency recorded a sharp increase in visitor numbers during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period, with daily arrivals reaching more than 2,400 tourists.
According to the Bangli Tourism and Culture Office, the figure marks a significant jump from normal daily visits, which typically range between 700 and 1,000 people.
The surge has also translated into higher local revenue. “Retribution income reached IDR 73 million, compared to around IDR 36 million in the previous two days,” said Head of Bangli Tourism and Culture Office, I Wayan Dirga Yusa, on Monday (March 23, 2026).
Monitoring data from the agency shows that most visitors concentrated in café and restaurant areas along the Penelokan route, rather than public viewing platforms.
“Vehicles were mostly concentrated at cafés. Visitors seem to prefer enjoying views of Mount Batur and Lake Batur from these spots. The public viewing area at Penelokan was not as crowded, although still busier than usual,” he explained.
Based on previous patterns, authorities expect the peak of visitor numbers to occur on Sunday, although final data from the three-day holiday period is still being compiled to confirm trends.
Officials also noted that, despite ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, tourism activity in Bangli has remained stable. “So far, regular daily visitor numbers remain normal and stable,” Dirga Yusa added.
For visitors, Kintamani continues to be one of Bali’s key highland destinations, offering scenic views of Mount Batur and Lake Batur, particularly during peak holiday periods.
