BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – Police in Kuta carried out a coordinated operation on Saturday night, 6 December 2025, targeting online motorbike taxi (ojek online) drivers operating without proper procedures around the busy Simpang Seminyak Square in Basangkasa, Seminyak.
Led by Kuta Police Chief Commissioner Agus Riwayanto Diputra, the operation involved cooperation between the Seminyak village office, Babinsa, local staff, the Ojol Task Force, Linmas, and community police officers (Bhabinkamtibmas).
The operation specifically focused on drivers who were operating without using official ride-hailing applications or who were violating uniform and identification requirements.
“During this operation, Kuta Police took action against 18 online motorbike drivers who were found committing violations,” Commissioner Agus said.
Violations included removing or opening official jackets while operating, as well as working without following required procedures. Authorities noted that such actions can compromise safety and order in one of Bali’s busiest tourist zones.
Commissioner Agus stated that the joint operation is a preventive measure designed to improve public safety, maintain order, and ensure a comfortable environment for both residents and visitors in Seminyak and surrounding areas.
“Similar operations will continue regularly throughout the Kuta Police jurisdiction,” he confirmed.
He also issued a firm reminder to drivers and road users to comply with traffic regulations, use vehicles that meet technical standards, and ensure their motorbikes display valid license plates.
Authorities say consistent adherence to these rules is essential for maintaining a safe and orderly environment. The entire operation at Simpang Seminyak Square concluded smoothly, with no disturbances reported.
