GIANYAR, DEWATA.NEWS – A multi-vehicle traffic accident occurred on Kedewatan Road in Ubud, Gianyar Regency, on Tuesday morning (December 30, 2025), involving a sand-loaded truck, a Toyota Veloz, and three motorcycles. No fatalities were reported, although several vehicles sustained significant damage.
Based on information gathered at the scene, the truck was traveling from the northern direction, while the Toyota Veloz, carrying tourists, was heading south. Three motorcycles were also caught up in the collision.
A local resident who witnessed the aftermath said the cause of the crash was not immediately clear. “I don’t know what caused it. When I arrived, the accident had already happened. There were no fatalities. Besides the truck and the car, three motorcycles were involved, but thankfully no one suffered serious injuries,” the resident said.
The impact caused the truck’s front axle to break on both sides. The Toyota Veloz suffered damage to its front right suspension and engine components. One Yamaha Vixion motorcycle sustained minor damage, while two Honda Beat motorcycles were damaged at the front sections.
Although no serious injuries were reported, all individuals involved were taken to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation.
The accident led to severe traffic congestion along the Kedewatan Road corridor, a key access route connecting Sayan Village and Payangan. During the evacuation process, vehicles were forced to pass alternately through the accident area, further slowing traffic.
Head of Traffic Accident Investigation Unit at the Gianyar Police Traffic Division, I Wayan Wijaya, said the cause of the accident is still under investigation. “We are currently collecting witness statements as part of the investigation,” he said.
Authorities urged motorists to remain cautious when traveling through the area, particularly during peak hours.
