BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali has confirmed its readiness to handle increased passenger traffic during the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 (Nataru) holiday period, with a focus on safety, comfort, and service efficiency.

Airport management said preparations include strengthening operational plans and procedures, optimizing personnel deployment, ensuring the reliability of facilities and infrastructure, and reinforcing coordination with all stakeholders involved in airport services.

Key facilities such as security systems, passenger service areas, and flight navigation equipment have been checked and confirmed to be operating optimally. Runway friction inspections are also being carried out more intensively to maintain flight safety amid the rainy season.

Coordination with airlines has been intensified to support on-time performance and ensure proper implementation of delay management in accordance with applicable regulations when schedule adjustments occur.

General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Ahmad Syaugi Shahab said all preparations are being carried out with passengers as the top priority.

“With our commitment to serving wholeheartedly, we want to ensure that everyone traveling through I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport enjoys a safer and more comfortable journey, especially during the Nataru holiday period when passenger and flight traffic is expected to increase,” Syaugi said on Monday, 15 December 2025.

Nataru Command Post Activated

The airport has activated its Nataru Command Post from 15 December 2025 to 4 January 2026, operating for 21 days. The post is intended to ensure that safety, security, and service standards are maintained throughout the peak travel period, while also serving as a coordination hub for all airport stakeholders.

Syaugi added that the airport is working closely with the Transportation Agency, Airport Police, the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU), and local traditional villages to help manage vehicle traffic to and from the airport.

Mobile Customer Service Introduced

To further enhance passenger experience during the holiday season, Ngurah Rai Airport has introduced a new mobile customer service initiative. Under this service, customer service staff will actively move around terminal areas to provide direct assistance to passengers.

“We understand that passengers’ need for information increases during holiday periods like Nataru. That is why our customer service teams will be mobile, offering on-the-spot assistance at key touchpoints such as check-in areas, boarding lounges, and arrival halls,” Syaugi explained.

Airport management said it will continue to ensure smooth departure and arrival processes, comfortable waiting areas, cleanliness, availability of trolleys, efficient baggage handling, and streamlined document checks.

Advice for Travelers

To support smooth operations during the busy travel period, passengers are advised to arrive at the airport earlier than usual, use online check-in services or self check-in kiosks where available, follow instructions from on-site officers, and help maintain order within the airport area.

With comprehensive preparations across all service lines, Ngurah Rai Airport expects passenger and aircraft movements to remain well-managed throughout the Nataru holiday season.
