TABANAN, DEWATA.NEWS – Nuanu Creative City marked the transition into 2026 with a New Year’s Eve celebration centered on Indonesian electronic and alternative music, offering a distinct contrast to the island’s more typical year-end events dominated by international headliners.
Rather than focusing on large-scale spectacle, Nuanu presented a curated platform highlighting local producers, DJs, and live performers who are shaping Indonesia’s evolving alternative and electronic music landscape through experimental and forward-looking approaches.
The initiative took form through a collaboration with PORTAL, positioning Nuanu as PORTAL’s exclusive home in Bali. The event, titled PORTAL x Nuanu, featured a full lineup of Indonesian artists and was held on December 31, 2025, at Nuanu Creative City.
More than 20 next-generation Indonesian musicians performed throughout the night, signaling a deliberate shift from countdown events built around spectacle toward a celebration emphasizing experimentation, community building, and expanded ways of experiencing Indonesian electronic music.
“We want Nuanu to be a place chosen and trusted by artists,” said Lev Kroll, CEO of Nuanu Creative City. “As we enter the new year, our goal is not to become a typical party destination, but a meeting space where artists can freely express themselves and explore Indonesian authenticity. Through platforms like PORTAL, we open this space, bringing artists to the stage and inviting audiences from around the world to experience and engage with the ideas being presented.”
The event was structured across two dedicated stages, Detak and Sumbu, each designed with distinct creative directions. Detak focused on electronic music, offering a high-quality audio environment for DJs and dancefloor-driven performances. Sumbu, meanwhile, provided space for vocalists, hybrid performances, and audiovisual sets, emphasizing experimental sound and visual exploration.
In total, 24 Indonesian artists were scheduled to perform across electronic, live, hybrid, and audiovisual formats. The lineup included Asylum Uniform, Bagvs, Big Chun a.k.a. Naken, Dekadenz, Gumatat Gumitit Gospell (live set), JayDawn & Wukir Suryadi, Kuntari (organic set), Mairakilla, Non Archive, Raissa Febriani, Verdy Arien b2b Magis, Txtext (live set), Parakuat (live set), Alkahfa (hybrid set), Paradata (A/V set), Su66en9 (hybrid set), Pure! Records, Linda b2b Masagi b2b Masayu, Barbara Pleaser, Temu Gerak, and Putu Septa featuring Janurangga.
Organizers said the collective presence of these artists aimed to create a shared experience while strengthening Indonesia’s alternative music ecosystem through collaboration and experimentation.
PORTAL x Nuanu took place on December 31, 2025, at Nuanu Creative City, with limited-capacity tickets available through Megatix. Additional information was provided via Nuanu’s official website.
