BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), through its Strategic Business Unit (SBU) The Nusa Dua, has partnered with Merusaka Nusa Dua to conduct a capacity-building training program for beach vendor associations operating within The Nusa Dua area. The training was held at the ITDC Wantilan Hall in Bali on Tuesday (February 3, 2026).
The session was delivered by Assistant Learning and Development Manager Ni Made Ayu Ratna Sulistya Dewi and attended by 30 participants representing KUD Yasa Segara Bengiat, Paguyuban Mertha Segara, and Paguyuban Sekar Nusa. The program forms part of ITDC’s broader initiative to strengthen local community capacity within the tourism area.
According to the organizers, the beach vendor training will be implemented in stages throughout 2026 as a collaborative effort by InJourney Group to support local communities. The training focuses on three key areas: sustainability and green initiatives, communication skills within the hospitality industry, and the prevention of sexual harassment. These themes align with the application of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles as an international tourism standard.
Vice President Commercial and Relations of The Nusa Dua, Made Purnama Damayanti, welcomed the collaboration between ITDC The Nusa Dua and Merusaka Nusa Dua, noting its importance in strengthening the role of local communities in tourism services.
“This training reflects our shared responsibility to maintain service quality, environmental sustainability, and the image of The Nusa Dua as Bali’s finest family-friendly resort destination. Beach vendor associations play a frontline role through their direct interaction with visitors,” Damayanti said in a written statement received on Wednesday (February 4, 2026).
Merusaka Nusa Dua Executive Assistant Manager Agung Aryawati added that synergy among InJourney Group members is essential in responding to current tourism challenges.
“Tourism development today requires all business actors in the area to continuously improve service professionalism, ethical conduct, and hospitality, while also creating a safe and comfortable environment. We hope this collaboration will generate sustainable positive impacts, not only for the destination but also for the continuity of local businesses,” she said.
Chair of KUD Yasa Segara Bengiat, I Wayan Sudarya, also expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing the training as practical and directly applicable to daily activities.
“This program provides tangible benefits by improving knowledge and skills that can be applied immediately, while also supporting the long-term sustainability of local businesses,” Sudarya said.
ITDC stated that through this program, participants are expected to consistently implement the training materials in their daily operations, helping to maintain service quality, environmental sustainability, and the overall competitiveness of The Nusa Dua as a leading tourism destination.
