BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – Hotel occupancy in Bali’s premium tourism enclave of Nusa Dua reached around 70 percent during the Good Friday holiday period, with international visitors continuing to dominate bookings.
General Manager of The Nusa Dua, I Made Agus Dwiatmika, said occupancy levels during the religious holiday remained stable and showed signs of improvement compared to previous periods.
“It’s still around 70 percent during the Good Friday holiday. It should increase as we move into April and approach May,” he said.
According to Dwiatmika, the increase is largely supported by foreign tourist arrivals, which remain the primary contributor to occupancy rates in the area. Domestic tourism, meanwhile, has not yet shown a significant rise during this period.
He also noted that global travel patterns are influencing tourist movements. Ongoing geopolitical tensions in several regions have prompted some travelers to shift their destinations, with Bali emerging as an alternative perceived as safe and appealing.
“Mostly international visitors. With geopolitical conflicts in other regions, some travelers are redirecting their trips to Bali, and that helps us,” he explained.
One of the key contributing markets is Australia. From an estimated 300,000 travelers who had initially planned trips to Europe, a portion is now reported to be choosing Bali instead.
This shift has had a positive impact on occupancy, particularly in areas like Nusa Dua, which is known for its high-end resorts and international-standard facilities.
Looking ahead, industry stakeholders expect occupancy rates to continue rising as Bali enters April and May, a transitional period leading into the island’s peak tourism season.
