KLUNGKUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – The Klungkung Regency Government in Bali will implement a mandatory digital ticketing system for tourists visiting Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan, starting April 21, 2026.

Under the new policy, all visitors both domestic and international, must purchase entrance tickets online before traveling to the islands. The move is aimed at improving transparency and preventing potential revenue leakage from the tourism sector.

Acting Head of Klungkung Tourism Office, I Gusti Agung Putra Mahajaya, said the system ensures that all transactions are recorded in real time.

“Previously, there was potential for revenue leakage. With the digital system, all transactions are recorded, and officers only need to validate them through QR codes on site,” he stated on Tuesday (March 24, 2026).

The e-ticketing system replaces manual ticket purchases at the destination. Visitors are required to buy tickets through an official platform prepared by the local government, with verification conducted at arrival points.

Authorities emphasized that the policy is not only a modernization effort but also a strategic step to strengthen oversight of tourism-related revenue, particularly as visitor numbers continue to grow in Nusa Penida.

“Transparency is essential to improve tourism governance so that it becomes more orderly and professional,” Putra Mahajaya added.

Ahead of the full rollout, the Klungkung Tourism Office has intensified outreach to fast boat operators, tourism businesses, and stakeholders at crossing ports to ensure smooth implementation.

Ticket prices remain unchanged under the current regulation. Adult visitors are charged IDR 25,000, while children pay IDR 15,000 per person, based on Klungkung Regional Regulation No. 5 of 2018.

The government expects the digital system to enhance accountability and strengthen Nusa Penida’s reputation as a well-managed and modern tourist destination.
