BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – A 50-year-old Russian national, identified by the initials VG, was found dead at a residence on Jalan Muding Indah, Kerobokan Kaja, on Thursday morning, January 1, 2026.
The discovery was reported at around 10:00 a.m. WITA after a local resident who works at the property noticed unusual conditions inside the garage area. Local authorities from Polsek Kuta Utara responded to the report and conducted an initial on-site examination.
Badung Police spokesperson Aiptu Ni Nyoman Ayu Inastuti said officers found no signs of violence or indications of involvement by other parties.
“Based on the preliminary examination, there were no signs of physical violence on the body. The findings are consistent with a non-criminal incident,” she said.
According to police, VG had been living alone at the residence and was known to rarely leave the house. The property owner told investigators that VG had previously experienced mental health difficulties, which were believed to be related to ongoing conditions in her home country.
The owner also stated that VG had earlier been taken to RSU Garba Med for a medical check-up, where doctors indicated she was experiencing depression.
Several personal belongings were documented at the scene, including cash in multiple currencies, two passports, a mobile phone with charger, and a handwritten note. Authorities did not disclose further details regarding the note.
The body was later transported to RSUP Prof Ngoerah at around 12:50 p.m. WITA for formal handling and administrative procedures. Police have asked the property owner to coordinate with the victim’s family or representatives regarding further arrangements, including repatriation.
Police emphasized that the case is being handled as a non-criminal incident and that no legal proceedings are involved.
