DENPASAR, DEWATA.NEWS – Seven Bangladeshi nationals have been detained in Bali for allegedly entering Indonesia without passing through official immigration checks and without valid travel documents or residence permits.
According to Ahmad Apriandi, spokesperson for the Class I Immigration Office at Denpasar International Port of Entry (TPI), the seven men remain in custody at the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center (Rudenim) in Jimbaran as of Monday (Feb 23, 2026).
Authorities have not yet confirmed when deportation procedures will take place.
“Regarding deportation, we have not yet received further information,” Ahmad said in Denpasar.
Immigration officials initially took custody of two of the individuals on Saturday, Feb 14, 2026, after coordinating with the Tabanan Regency Public Order Agency (Satpol PP). The two men had reportedly stayed for four days at a mosque in Kediri District, Tabanan Regency, and were not carrying any identification documents.
Separately, five other Bangladeshi nationals were secured by Denpasar City Satpol PP on Wednesday, Feb 18, 2026, and later transferred to the Denpasar Immigration Office for further examination.
Immigration checks through the border control system found no official record of entry for any of the seven individuals.
Based on the official examination report (BAP), the men are suspected of violating Article 113 of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration, which prohibits entering Indonesian territory without inspection by an immigration officer at a designated Immigration Checkpoint (TPI).
Head of the Class I TPI Denpasar Immigration Office, R. Haryo Sakti, said the detention reflects enforcement of immigration law and protection of national sovereignty.
He emphasized that any violations will be handled in accordance with applicable regulations.
“Supervision of foreign nationals will continue to be strengthened through coordination with Satpol PP and the Police,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, Felucia Sengky Ratna, underscored the importance of coordination between Immigration, Police, and Satpol PP, particularly through the Foreigners Monitoring Team (Timpora), to maintain security and public order.
Authorities said the case remains under administrative immigration proceedings while further steps, including potential deportation, are being prepared.
