JEMBRANA, DEWATA.NEWS – A 35-year-old Swiss national was found dead at a villa in Medewi Village, Pekutatan District, Jembrana Regency, on Sunday night (Feb 22).
The victim, identified by initials GP, was discovered unresponsive inside his room at the property. Authorities confirmed that no visible signs of violence were found on the body.
According to information obtained from police, the incident came to light after the villa owner, Komang RG (46), became concerned when the guest could not be contacted. Repeated attempts to knock on the door of Room No. 2, where the victim was staying, went unanswered.
At approximately 7:45 p.m. WITA, the villa owner and another witness attempted to access the room. However, the door was locked from the inside. They then entered through the back by climbing over a wall using a ladder.
Once inside, they found the room dark and discovered the victim lying on his back under a blanket, with his hands already stiff. Police were immediately contacted through the emergency hotline 110.
Head of Criminal Investigation at Jembrana Police, AKP I Gede Alit Darmana, confirmed that officers and medical personnel from the Pekutatan Community Health Center responded to the scene.
“After receiving the report, we, along with medical personnel, went to the location to conduct an examination. The external examination showed no signs of violence on the victim’s body,” he said on Monday (Feb 23).
The body has been transferred to Negara General Hospital for further handling.
Police are currently coordinating with the Swiss Consulate to determine the next steps, including the possibility of an autopsy to establish the exact cause of death.

The case remains under police handling pending further medical examination.
