TABANAN, DEWATA.NEWS – An international workshop combining traditional medicine, culinary practice, and tourism has been introduced in Bali through the “Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Cooking Workshop for Wellness Tourism,” aimed at supporting the growing wellness tourism sector.
The program is organized by PIB College in collaboration with Bali Mandarin Academy and Bama Karya Usada, bringing together education, health, and tourism into a single learning experience.
The workshop is led by Dr. Lin Yingjie, a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner from the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, who shares both theoretical knowledge and practical techniques rooted in TCM.
Participants engage in hands-on sessions to learn how TCM principles can be applied in food preparation to support overall health and body balance.
The initiative reflects PIB College’s approach to delivering globally relevant education by integrating cultural knowledge, industry needs, and international collaboration.
In addition to culinary techniques, participants gain insights into the concept of wellness tourism, a segment that continues to expand rapidly within the global travel industry.
The program offers several key learning outcomes, including practical TCM-based cooking methods, understanding of wellness-focused tourism concepts, and direct experience guided by an international practitioner.
The workshop is supported by Jatiluwih Tourism Village, highlighting collaboration between educational institutions and tourism destinations. It also involves participation from tourism and hospitality stakeholders, including representatives from Tabanan’s tourism office, industry associations, and local healthcare and hospitality institutions.
The initiative is expected to contribute to Bali’s positioning as a destination not only for leisure travel but also for wellness-focused experiences and educational tourism.
