JEMBRANA, DEWATA.NEWS – A tourist bus operated by PHJ Trans was involved in a single-vehicle accident inside the West Bali National Park (TNBB) area early Monday morning (9/2), after veering off the road and hitting a tree along the Denpasar–Gilimanuk route.

The accident occurred at around 01:30 WITA in the Penginuman area of Gilimanuk, Melaya District. The bus, bearing license plate B 7079 VGA, was traveling westbound from Denpasar toward Gilimanuk Port when the incident took place on the stretch of road often referred to locally as a high-risk traffic corridor.

According to Gilimanuk Port Area Traffic Unit head AKP Kukuh Emanuel, the driver attempted to avoid a fallen tree that was blocking part of the roadway. “The driver tried to steer clear of the fallen tree, but the bus instead slipped onto the left shoulder and struck another roadside tree,” he said.

The impact caused significant damage to the vehicle. The front upper section of the bus was severely damaged, while the left-side door and windows were shattered. Despite the extent of the damage, police confirmed that there were no casualties.

“The driver, Hendri Setya Budi (40), and the conductor, Sugono (43), both from Bondowoso, were unharmed,” Kukuh stated.

Police and related agencies quickly carried out evacuation and clearing operations, including removing fallen tree debris from the main logistics route connecting eastern and western Bali. Authorities confirmed that traffic flow in the area has since returned to normal following the cleanup.
