DENPASAR, DEWATA.NEWS – Indonesian airline TransNusa has officially launched three new domestic routes, expanding air connectivity across Central and Eastern Indonesia as part of its broader network growth strategy.
The newly opened routes include Denpasar–Lombok, Denpasar–Bima, and Sorong–Timika, with inaugural flights commencing on 15 December 2025. The expansion reflects TransNusa’s commitment to providing more accessible, comfortable, and affordable air travel options while supporting regional economic and tourism development.
Inaugural Flights Marked by Ceremonial Welcomes
The first Denpasar–Lombok flight was marked by a water salute upon arrival at Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport on 15 December 2025, symbolizing the opening of a new air bridge between two key tourism destinations.
The welcoming ceremony was further highlighted by the presentation of traditional Lombok textiles to TransNusa President Director Bayu Sutanto and Vice Chairman Leo Budiman by Angkasa Pura Indonesia officials, reflecting hopes for long-term collaboration and sustainable tourism growth.
On the same day, the inaugural Denpasar–Bima service received a similar water salute at Sultan Muhammad Salahuddin Airport. The arrival was followed by a cultural welcome featuring the Wura Bongi Monca traditional dance, attended by Bima Mayor H. A. Rahman H. Abidin, Deputy Mayor Feri Sofiyan, and other regional government representatives.
Officials from the Bima Regency administration, local security forces, and state-owned enterprises were also present, underscoring strong multi-stakeholder support for the new route.
Airline and Airport Support for Regional Growth
TransNusa President Director Bayu Sutanto said the route expansion goes beyond transportation.
“For TransNusa, connectivity is not just about linking cities. It is about opening opportunities for sustainable economic and tourism growth. Through continuous innovation and route expansion, we aim to deliver services that truly meet the mobility needs of Indonesians,” he said in a written statement on Tuesday, 16 December 2025.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, emphasized the importance of broader air connectivity within Indonesia’s tourism ecosystem.
“We continue to encourage wider and more evenly distributed air connectivity at Ngurah Rai Airport. Its impact goes beyond convenience for travelers and contributes to more balanced tourism development across Indonesia,” he said.
Flight Schedules
TransNusa is offering flexible schedules to enhance passenger convenience:
- Denpasar–Lombok:
Departures from Denpasar at 07:30, 15:55, and 18:55 WITA;
Departures from Lombok at 08:25, 17:20, and 20:00 WITA. - Denpasar–Bima:
Departure from Denpasar at 09:35 WITA;
Return flight from Bima at 11:00 WITA. - Sorong–Timika:
Departure from Sorong at 10:50 WITA;
Return flight from Timika at 12:40 WITA.
With these new routes, TransNusa aims to strengthen inter-island mobility, support local economies, and improve access to emerging destinations across Indonesia’s eastern regions.
