BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – An online motorcycle taxi driver in Bali has been cleared of involvement in a viral pornography case after police confirmed that three foreign nationals were responsible for producing the video.
The driver, identified as MR (35), said he had faced significant personal stress after being mistakenly accused by social media users of appearing in the video, which featured a man wearing an online driver jacket.
“It was chaotic. Many people commented that the person in the video was me. Even people close to me kept asking, including my wife,” MR said at Badung Police Headquarters on Tuesday (March 17).
The case previously led to the arrest of three foreign nationals: MMJL (23), a French woman, and NBS (24), an Italian man, who acted as performers, as well as ERB (26), a French man who allegedly managed and distributed the content.
MR explained that his involvement began when he met MMJL in the Batu Bolong Beach area of Canggu in February 2026. At the time, he invited her to participate in casual video content while riding on his motorcycle.
According to MR, the interaction was limited to light conversation content, and he was unaware of any involvement in adult content production.
“We met twice and created content twice. One of them was at the villa, but it was only casual conversation,” he said.
He added that he only later discovered that MMJL was involved in adult content creation and did not expect the situation to escalate into a criminal case.
MR expressed relief after police clarified the situation and identified the actual suspects.
“Now it’s clear that the person in the video is not me. I’m grateful to Badung Police for revealing the truth and identifying the real perpetrators,” he said.
Police previously confirmed that the viral video was filmed at a villa in Pererenan, Mengwi, on March 8, 2026. Investigators found that the suspects deliberately used an online motorcycle taxi jacket as a prop to attract attention.
The jacket was reportedly purchased online for IDR 300,000.
Authorities stated that the case was uncovered after the video circulated widely on social media, prompting an investigation that led to the identification and arrest of the three foreign nationals.
The case remains under further legal process as investigators continue to examine evidence and witness statements.
