BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – A villa break-in was reported in Tibubeneng Village, North Kuta, Badung, on Tuesday afternoon (March 31, 2026), resulting in the loss of valuables belonging to an Australian national.
The victim, identified by initials MARCS (39), reported missing items including a laptop and an iPhone 7, with total losses estimated at IDR 25 million.
According to Public Relations officer of Badung Police, Aiptu Ni Nyoman Ayu Inastuti, the incident occurred while the victim was away from the villa.
“When the victim returned about an hour later, the laptop and mobile phone were no longer there,” she said on Wednesday (April 1, 2026).
The victim later reviewed CCTV footage from the property, which showed an unidentified male suspect entering the villa compound and heading toward the victim’s room.
The suspect was seen wearing a green cap, a medical mask, dark clothing, and jeans. He allegedly forced entry by prying open the room door using a crowbar before taking the items.
“The suspect entered the room by damaging the door and then took the victim’s belongings,” Inastuti explained.
After committing the theft, the suspect left the scene. The victim subsequently filed a report with North Kuta Police.
Officers have since visited the location, collected initial evidence, and are currently analyzing CCTV footage to identify the suspect.
“Our officers are still conducting an investigation,” she added.
The case highlights ongoing concerns related to property security in residential and tourist accommodation areas in Bali.
