DENPASAR, DEWATA.NEWS – A 57-year-old British national was killed in a traffic collision at the three-way intersection of Jalan Imam Bonjol and Jalan Pulau Galang, Kilometer 5, West Denpasar, early Friday morning.

The accident occurred at approximately 02:30 WITA in a commercial area near the intersection. Police received the report around 02:50 WITA and responded to the scene shortly afterward.

According to Denpasar Traffic Police Chief Commissioner Yusuf Dwi Admodjo, the crash involved a Yamaha Filano motorcycle with license plate DK 3304 ADW and a Mitsubishi box truck with license plate B 9660 UXF.

Preliminary findings indicate that upon reaching the intersection, the motorcyclist allegedly made a sudden right turn toward the east, cutting across the lane of oncoming traffic.

“The rider is suspected of abruptly crossing into the opposite lane, resulting in a collision with the box truck, which was traveling within its lane,” he explained.

The motorcyclist, identified by initials WSLN, sustained injuries to the chest and bruising to the left ribs, along with bleeding from the nose and mouth. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was reported to be residing in the Jalan Popies area near Pasar Agung in Kuta, Badung, a location known for its concentration of tourist accommodations.

The truck driver, identified by initials RA (36), from Gorontalo, was not reported to have suffered serious injuries.

Police have conducted a scene investigation and secured the vehicles involved as evidence. The case remains under investigation.
