BANGLI, DEWATA.NEWS – As the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 holidays approach, Penglipuran Village in Bangli is preparing a series of cultural attractions designed to be warm, meaningful, and rooted in its green identity. The programs highlight the village’s long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship, cultural preservation, and community-driven tourism.

General Manager of Penglipuran Tourism Village, I Wayan Sumiarsa, said preparations are underway to ensure visitors can enjoy the festive season safely and comfortably while experiencing authentic Balinese culture.

“This year, we are not only adding new attractions but also strengthening the message that every visit to Penglipuran contributes to the preservation of nature, culture, and community welfare,” he said in a statement received on Sunday, 7 December 2025.

Penglipuran has moved beyond traditional sustainable tourism by adopting a regenerative tourism approach. This model aims not only to minimize negative impacts but also to actively restore and enhance the environmental, social, and cultural qualities of the village.

Through a community-based tourism framework, local residents serve as the primary decision-makers to ensure economic and social benefits are distributed widely.

Situated within Penglipuran’s bamboo forest, Bamboo Café will offer special Christmas and New Year menus featuring locally sourced ingredients, including loloh cemcem, home-style dishes, and acoustic performances. The serene forest atmosphere offers a peaceful holiday escape for visitors seeking a quieter, reflective experience.

Improved Visitor Management

To anticipate increased visitor numbers, the village management is implementing measures aligned with overtourism management guidelines to maintain a comfortable experience for tourists without disrupting local life.

Visitors Encouraged to Be Partners in Regenerative Tourism

With eco-travel and green tourism trends rising globally, Penglipuran continues to attract visitors seeking meaningful interaction with nature, culture, and local communities.

Sumiarsa invites travelers to see themselves not only as guests but also as partners in the village’s regenerative movement.

“Come not only to take photos, but also to help keep the area clean, respect local customs, support local small businesses, and strengthen our regenerative tourism efforts,” he said.
