BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – A localized flood of approximately 30 centimeters inundated Jalan Kunti II in Seminyak, Kuta, on Tuesday morning, 9 December 2025, causing several motorists, particularly motorcyclists, to turn around due to unsafe conditions.

The flooding occurred in front of the Badung Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) office at around 05.00 WITA. I Ketut Murdika, Head of Emergency and Logistics at BPBD Badung, confirmed that the incident was triggered by rising water levels in Tukad Mati combined with high tide.

“Tukad Mati’s water level increased and the sea tide was high, so the river could not flow out properly. The water overflowed onto the road in front of our office,” Murdika explained.

He added that the situation was worsened by runoff from heavy rainfall in northern areas the previous night. “There was high rainfall in the north last night, so this may be water flowing down from upstream,” he said.

According to BPBD, the flooding was limited to the area in front of the agency’s office, covering an estimated stretch of 100 meters. Local Linmas officers were deployed to manage traffic, directing motorcyclists to turn back while allowing only cars to pass through the flooded section. “Linmas officers instructed motorcycles to return, and only cars were allowed through,” Murdika noted.

Flooding at this particular point is known to occur periodically, though normalization efforts for Tukad Mati have been carried out. Water levels are expected to recede as the tide lowers. “Hopefully the sea level drops soon so the river flow can return to normal,” he added.
