BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – GWK Cultural Park has confirmed it will not hold a fireworks display during the transition from 2025 to 2026, opting instead for a laser show as part of its New Year’s Eve celebrations. The decision follows a national appeal discouraging the use of fireworks during year-end festivities.
The announcement was delivered by Andre Prawiradisastra, General Manager of Marketing Communication and Events at GWK Cultural Park, on Sunday (December 28, 2025).
The policy was also shared through the official Instagram account @GWKevent, which emphasized that the main Bali Countdown program will continue as scheduled.
Visitors attending the New Year’s Eve event will still be able to enjoy live music performances, the midnight countdown, and a modern laser show designed as a visual alternative to fireworks.
“The main event program will proceed as planned. Visitors can still enjoy music concerts, the countdown experience, and a laser show as a replacement for fireworks during the New Year’s Eve celebration at GWK Cultural Park,” Andre said.
According to Andre, the decision reflects compliance with advisories and restrictions issued by Indonesian National Police, as well as a measure of social responsibility in response to the current national situation.
Addressing questions about potential ticket refunds for visitors who may reconsider attending due to the absence of fireworks, Andre stated that ticket purchases remain non-refundable. He noted that this policy is clearly outlined in the terms and conditions provided at the time of purchase.
“There is no official refund policy change. Tickets remain non-refundable, as stated in the terms and conditions. This program adjustment does not cancel the overall event, as the main entertainment offerings are still taking place,” he said.
GWK Cultural Park is one of Bali’s major venues for large-scale cultural and entertainment events and regularly hosts New Year’s Eve countdown celebrations attended by both domestic and international visitors.
