BALI, DEWATA.NEWS – Former 4Minute member Heo Ga Yoon has spoken openly about her decision to leave South Korea and settle in Bali, revealing personal hardships that led to the life-changing move.

Her story was shared in a preview of an upcoming episode of tvN’s You Quiz on the Block, scheduled to air on the night of February 4, with the full episode featuring Ga Yoon set to be broadcast on February 11.

In the preview, Ga Yoon said she has been living in Bali for three years. She described facing difficult experiences in the past, including being involved in situations related to school violence, which she said she chose to endure on her own.

She also revealed long-hidden struggles with binge eating disorder, explaining that she was unable to tell anyone about her condition. “I kept eating until my stomach hurt so much that I had to stop,” she said, prompting visible concern from host Yoo Jae Suk.

Ga Yoon became emotional while speaking about the death of her older brother in 2020, which she described as a turning point in her life. “My brother suddenly passed away,” she said. She added that her parents later told her that if she decided to leave, they would want to follow her as well.

It was reported that her brother suffered from a chronic illness that worsened over time and ultimately led to his death. Ga Yoon has previously spoken about this loss on the Sebasi Talk YouTube channel, where she explained how the experience changed her outlook on life.

She also addressed public assumptions that she must be financially wealthy for leaving her career in South Korea to live abroad. According to Ga Yoon, her decision to move to Bali was driven by personal reasons rather than material comfort.

Ga Yoon explained that her first visit to Bali came after a suggestion from a former groupmate, Ji Yoon, while she was considering traveling to Europe. That short visit left a strong impression on her.

“Everything was amazing. The people were kind, the food was good, and every moment felt pleasant, so I decided to come back,” she said.

What began as a two-month stay eventually turned into a long-term decision. Ga Yoon said that even after living in Bali for more than two years, the island continues to feel fresh and enjoyable, with new experiences constantly emerging.

The upcoming episode of You Quiz on the Block is expected to further explore Ga Yoon’s personal journey, her healing process, and how life in Bali has helped her rebuild after years of emotional challenges.
