BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – Heavy rainfall in Abiansemal District on Monday (9/2) caused a large jaka tree to collapse, temporarily blocking the road leading to the Mumbul tourist park in Sangeh Village, Badung Regency.

The fallen tree covered the main access route to the attraction and also struck overhead power lines, raising safety concerns among local residents and road users.

Abiansemal sub-district head Ida Bagus Putu Mas Arimbawa confirmed the incident and said the response was handled promptly by local authorities. “The fallen tree incident in Sangeh Village did occur. The village authorities, together with the Badung Disaster Management Agency, immediately carried out response measures,” he said.

During the evacuation and clearing process, the Badung Disaster Management Agency coordinated with the state electricity provider to address the damaged power lines. Officials said this coordination was necessary to ensure public safety during the removal process.

Head of Operations Division II of the Badung Disaster Management Agency, Ketut Murdika, said the situation has since been fully resolved. “The handling has been completed. Road access is now back to normal, and there were no casualties in this incident,” he said.

Murdika added that the agency received the initial report from village officials and dispatched a response team to the site without delay. “Our team immediately went to the location to clear the fallen tree on the route to the Mumbul tourist area in Sangeh,” he explained.

Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant amid ongoing wet weather conditions in Badung. Forecasts indicate a continued high potential for rainfall, which may increase the risk of fallen trees and landslides.

“If residents encounter conditions that may pose a danger to public safety, we ask them to report it immediately so it can be handled quickly,” Murdika said.
