Bali Police spokesperson Kombes Pol. Ariasandy provides official information regarding an alleged assault case involving a foreign tourist in South Kuta, Badung.

BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – A 22-year-old Chinese national, identified as RF, has reported an alleged sexual assault that occurred in the early hours of Monday (March 23) in the Pecatu area of South Kuta, Badung. The case is currently under investigation by Bali Police.

According to Bali Police spokesperson Kombes Pol. Ariasandy on Wednesday (March 25), the incident began after the victim visited a nightlife venue on Jalan Labuan Sait, Pecatu, accompanied by a friend from Kazakhstan.

At approximately 04:00 WITA, the friend returned to their accommodation due to fatigue, while the victim left the venue shortly afterward.

“The victim stated she does not clearly remember what happened and suddenly found herself on a motorcycle driven by a man wearing a dark blue shirt,” Ariasandy said.

The victim later realized she was not being taken back to her accommodation in the Berawa area, North Kuta. She reported noticing surroundings with trees and grass along the road, suggesting a different route.

The suspect reportedly stopped the motorcycle at the roadside and invited the victim to engage in sexual activity. The victim refused. She was then taken to a grassy area across the road, where the alleged assault occurred.

After the incident, the suspect borrowed the victim’s phone under the pretext of finding directions to her guest house. The two then continued traveling and arrived at the accommodation around 06:00 WITA.

“About an hour later, they arrived at the guest house where the victim was staying,” Ariasandy stated.

Upon arrival, the suspect allegedly asked the victim to go to a hotel with him, which she declined. The victim then gave the suspect IDR 150,000 before entering her room. She later realized her phone had not been returned and that the suspect had already left.

The victim reported experiencing shock and trauma following the incident but did not sustain physical injuries. Police noted that there were no indications of physical or verbal violence during the encounter.

The case has been formally reported to the Bali Police headquarters, and it is currently being handled by the Criminal Investigation Directorate. “The report is under investigation,” Ariasandy confirmed.

This case highlights ongoing concerns regarding personal safety, particularly for visitors traveling alone at night in unfamiliar areas of Bali.
