DENPASAR, DEWATA.NEWS – Indonesia has been recognized as one of the world’s top travel destinations, while Bali secured the title of Favorite Tourism Region at the 19th China Travel Awards held in Shanghai.

The recognition was awarded by a leading Chinese travel magazine, Travel+Leisure, which evaluates destinations based on industry expertise and traveler voting across China.

Indonesia received the “Top Destinations” award alongside several countries, including Australia, the Maldives, South Africa, Thailand, and Türkiye.

Indonesian Consul General in Shanghai, Berlianto Situngkir, said the award reflects international recognition of Indonesia’s tourism competitiveness.

“This award validates that Indonesia’s tourism products can compete at the highest level. Last year, Bali was also selected as a top destination in the same awards,” he said in a written statement.

According to him, the recognition highlights Indonesia’s strengths in offering diverse travel experiences, cultural richness, and natural attractions, particularly in one of the world’s largest outbound tourism markets.

“Being selected as one of the best shows that Indonesia’s tourism standards are widely recognized by international travelers,” he added.

The China Travel Awards is an annual event that honors excellence in the travel and lifestyle industry. Winners are determined through a selection process involving industry experts, travel journalists, and open voting by millions of travelers in China.

Travel+Leisure’s audience primarily consists of high-net-worth individuals, making the recognition particularly significant in attracting premium travelers to destinations like Bali.

For international readers, the award reinforces Bali’s continued global appeal as a leading tourism destination, especially among travelers from China.
