BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – Bongkasa Pertiwi Village in Badung Regency is preparing to expand its tourism sector with the development of a new village-managed religious tourism destination called Taman Tirta.
The project is part of the village’s broader strategy to strengthen community-based tourism while creating new economic opportunities for local residents in one of Bali’s growing tourism areas.
Located in Abiansemal District, Bongkasa Pertiwi has already become known for various adventure tourism activities operated by local residents, including rafting businesses, jungle swings, and outdoor recreation attractions spread across several traditional village areas.
Village Head I Nyoman Buda said tourism in Bongkasa Pertiwi has developed rapidly through collaboration between local communities and traditional village organizations.
“There are quite a lot of tourism attractions here, spread across different banjar areas,” Buda said on Saturday, May 16, 2026.
Existing attractions in the village include Bali Pertiwi Paintball, Bali Pertiwi Rafting, Jungle Pertiwi Swing, Bali Swing, My Swing, Bahama Rafting, and Yellow Garden Rafting.
While most tourism businesses are currently operated by residents, the village government is now preparing tourism facilities that will be fully owned and managed directly by the village administration.
According to Buda, construction of the Taman Tirta tourism area is scheduled to begin in June 2026.
The destination is planned as a religious tourism complex combined with nature-based recreational facilities aimed at both domestic and international visitors.
The development plan includes a traditional Balinese purification area (melukat), restaurants, glamping facilities, river tubing activities, and the possibility of village-managed rafting operations.
“This will truly become a village-owned tourism destination. The concept is religious tourism combined with natural and recreational tourism facilities,” Buda explained.
In addition to developing new attractions, Bongkasa Pertiwi Village has also been actively promoting its tourism potential internationally through participation in Bali and Beyond Travel Fair (BBTF) programs.
One of the village’s promotional activities includes hosting an International Gala Dinner attended by tourism representatives from multiple countries.
According to village officials, last year’s event welcomed participants from 22 countries across Asia and Europe, giving visitors direct exposure to local culture, village life, and tourism experiences.
The village plans to organize another gala dinner event on May 31, 2026, with participation expected from even more countries.
“They stay directly in the village so they can fully experience our environment and tourism potential,” Buda said.
The village government hopes the expansion of tourism facilities and international promotion efforts will further strengthen Bongkasa Pertiwi’s position as one of Badung Regency’s leading tourism villages while generating wider economic benefits for local communities.
“Our hope is that this creates a multiplier effect that moves the local economy forward, because every achievement of this village comes from cooperation and community support,” Buda added.
