BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – Customs officers at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali detained a 36-year-old Brazilian woman identified by the initials TCDS on Tuesday (October 6) over the alleged smuggling of approximately 3.6 kilograms of liquid cocaine concealed in seven bottles of personal care and shampoo products.

The woman was stopped at the international arrivals terminal at around 6 p.m. WITA as she entered Bali. During an inspection of her suitcase, customs officers discovered seven bottles suspected of containing liquid cocaine.

The findings prompted officers to coordinate with the Bali Police Narcotics Investigation Directorate for further investigation.

Bali Police Public Relations Chief Kombes Pol Ariasandy disclosed the case on Sunday (October 11). He said the liquid narcotics were allegedly disguised as personal care products to evade detection during inspections.

The seized substance had a gross weight of 3,659.9 grams, or approximately 3.6 kilograms.

“The narcotics could endanger the public if they were circulated and misused. The Bali Police Narcotics Investigation Directorate team is still investigating the case, including the origin of the narcotics and their intended destination in Bali,” Ariasandy said.

According to police, the seizure represents one of the larger liquid cocaine seizures reported in Bali in recent years. Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the alleged smuggling and the intended distribution of the substance.
