BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – A 55-year-old Australian woman was taken to hospital after causing a disturbance at a tourist accommodation on Jalan Nakula in Kuta, Badung Regency, on Wednesday morning (July 1).
The woman, identified by her initials ALB, was secured by Badung Regency’s Tourism Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) after hotel management reported that she had become uncontrollable and was disturbing the surrounding environment.
Made Astika Jaya, Head of Operations at Badung Satpol PP, said the agency received the initial report from the accommodation’s management requesting assistance for a guest believed to be experiencing psychological distress.
“The initial information came from the hotel management,” Astika said on Wednesday.
In response, Satpol PP dispatched a five-member team to the hotel at around 8:00 a.m. WITA to secure the situation and prevent further disruption.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers first attempted to calm the woman through a persuasive approach. However, the effort was unsuccessful because she was reportedly uncooperative.
For safety reasons, officers then applied measured restraint by securing both of her wrists to prevent harm to herself and others nearby.
After the situation was brought under control and the woman had calmed down, she was escorted from the accommodation in an official vehicle.
She was subsequently taken to Prof. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah General Hospital in Denpasar for medical evaluation and treatment after officers suspected she was experiencing depression.
“Because she was suspected of experiencing depression, we transferred her to Prof. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah General Hospital for further medical treatment,” Astika said.
Authorities have not reported any injuries or criminal offenses related to the incident. The case is being handled as a medical matter, with the woman receiving further assessment from healthcare professionals.
